Visualize...

hey everyone! it's arnab here
you may not know this about me, but i absolutely love patterns (good patterns that is)
i think patterns can really liven up an outfit
unfortunately, i don't actually own any outstanding patterned clothing myself
to rectify that, i've decided to take up pattern making myself

below are some patterned dresses that anisa and i both love

below is my first attempt at creating a pattern
i created it for the use in a project i'm working on

cheers!

with grace in your heart and flowers in your hair...

We're a bit late posting our Tuesday outfit post this week.
I'm going to blame our friends who kept us out at all hours Monday and got us too tired to put up anything.
:)

The crown I am wearing is a d.i.y. project that I decided to try out.  After purchasing everything I needed I sat at a table and tried to put it all together (no directions or anything) and I failed miserably. I told arnab that I gave up and that the whole project was impossible. arnab took everything I had and made, not only a crown but a bracelet as well!

Here's another one of our Batman shirts.
Can you really have to many?
They're comfortable and cool, so I don't think so.

eat your heart out: chocolate cookies 'n' cream towers!

Chocolate Cookies 'n' Cream Towers

We really should post recipes other than cookies and cakes, but we do eat a lot of both so when I'm perusing recipe books the baked goods section always catches my eye first.

I got this recipe from the FOOD&WINE Annual Cookbook 2007. It's a fun dessert option and even better is that you can make the cookies and eat them separately because they're great alone! You can also make the chocolate cream and or whipped cream and make oreo-type cookies.

Click below for the recipe!

inspiration: resort 2011!

Resort 2011

Emilio Pucci
Pucci's resort wear is my favorite collection of all the ones I've seen. I love the colors and the 70''s feel!! I'm a 70's kinda gal.

Chanel
Chanel's collection is also a favorite. As I scrolled through the looks, this collection made me want to go to a resort (with all the clothes of course) so badly, and I am not a resort type person.

Cynthia Rowley
Cynthia Rowley's collection is third on my favorite's list. The collection is filled with fun and summery looks. Everything is so sweet and feminine, I love it!

If you want to check out more collections, I found these pictures here
Have a wonderful weekend!!
Cheers!

my standard break from life

In the past years arnab and I have accumulated many band shirts. We don't wear them too often anymore so arnab decided put them to use by transforming them into something suitable for the hotter days we have.

The boots I'm wearing used to belong to my best friend Sosann. arnab convinced her to buy them some odd years ago (even though they were a size to small.) This past month she sadly asked if I would like them and I said of course, of course!

arnab
is wearing a diy Alkaline Trio band shirt, Levi's 511 diy shorts, vintage
Earl of Dover fedora, and Guess by Marciano  boots
anisa is wearing a Marc Jacobs top, J Brand jeans, Deena and Ozzy boots, and a vintage purse

Our post title is an Alkaline Trio song.
Have a happy Friday everyone!!
Cheers!

visualize...

arnab and I are huge art lovers so we thought it would be cool to share the art we love.

I don't know how many people read the comic strips in the newspaper but we do every Sunday. My favorite strip is Mutts, by Patrick McDonnell, which follows a dog and a cat who are terribly cute.

Today I want to share Mutts: Shelter Stories, a recurring storyline that McDonnell does to promote pet adoption via pet shelters.

You can find more of the shelter stories and everything else Mutt's here.
If you're thinking of getting a pet please visit your local shelters!

Cheers!

hold your head high

You may remember arnab's shirt from this post. I think that he may have found the perfect pants to go with the shirt. But then again it's the type of top that goes well with all sorts of pants and shorts. Don't you love when you clothes are easy to style?

You may not have known it but I am an animal lover.
I love reading books about animals, I love watching documentaries about animals (my favorite is Into the Pride), and one of my top places to visit would be the animal reserves in Africa.
Here I'm trying to put two of my loves together.

arnab is wearing a Velour button down shirt, Levi's 511 khakis, and Guess boots
anisa is wearing a World Wildlife Fund Shirt, Levi's high-waist jeans, Michael Kors clogs, vintage clutch

Our blog post is a song by the Heartless Bastards.
Have a lovely Wednesday!!
Cheers!

here we go again...

It's starting to heat up in L.A.
I don't mind it but arnab is definitely not a fan.
I think it'll soon be time to put away the sweaters, jackets, long sleeved shirts, and pants and bring out all the dresses, skirts, and shorts. yay!

arnab thinks I'm a freak for constantly wearing these J Brand jeans. But they're so comfortable why should I take them off!?

arnab got his vest at Wasteland. He was debating whether to get it but we thought it was a great casual piece to wear when you just want to lay back and relax. Wouldn't you agree?

anisa is wearing a Plastic Island top, J Brand jeans, Seychelles heels, vintage turquoise necklace, and a vintage Dooney & Bourke purse
arnab is wearing a Alternative Apparel top, vintage vest, vintage turquoise necklace, Levi's jeans, Billabong hat, and Kenneth Cole boots
Our post title is an Operation Ivy song.
We hope everyone has a great Tuesday!
Cheers!

sweet surrender

A few days ago arnab, myself, and our friends Sosann and Alex went to Bakersfield to go river rafting. The rafting was nothing hard, but it being the first time arnab and I did something like that, it was perfect.

Before the rafting we stopped by a small bakery (though it also carried jewelry, clothes, party decorations, greeting cards, etc.) called Sweet Surrender and we fell in love with their baked goods!! Their cookies are to die for! And the cupcakes and cakes were moist and absolutely delicious! If you're ever in or going through Bakersfield we highly recommended this place! (as does Giada de Laurentiis)

Then we went rafting! The check-in spot was surrounded by orange trees so of course we had to take outfit posts surrounded by them. arnab and I both opted for cool, causal looks as Bakersfield is always about ten degrees+ hotter than L.A.

arnab is wearing a Ralph Lauren button down, H&M tank top, Levi's 511 jeans, and sandals

anisa is wearing an Alternative Apparel top, vintage skirt, ban.do sequined heart, and a vintage clutch

For dinner we decided to drive around and pick a place that looked good. We initially picked a pizza place which advertised authentic New York style pizzas made the old fashioned way, unfortunately the service was terrible so we left and went to its neighbor El Taco Loco and let me tell you, best decision ever! We all love Mexican food and not only was the service 100x better, the food was delicious!

Overall we had an awesome time. (Man I'd love some of those taco's right now!)
Cheers!
