the animal inside of you

I don't think the weather has ever been as eventful as it has this year. We're lucky that, even though it keeps changes, it doesn't get too hot or too cold. It's really the best time to be creative with outfits.

This past weekend was very relaxing, though maybe a bit too much since no one wanted to go to work when Monday came. Long weekends will do that to you. These were outfits we wore while out shopping for holiday gifts (not on Black Friday.) The crowds weren't terribly crazy at the places we went and we found some great deals for presents.

It's possible that between the both of us arnab and I own everything from Levi's...

I'll never get tired of leopard print. Never. :)

eat your heart out: chocolate soufflé cake!

I'm not sure if I've conveyed how much I love chocolate on this site.
It's not as obsessive as it used to be, but it's still very strong.
I've tried to make many chocolate cakes throughout the years, some successfully some not so much. When I saw this post on ? blog, it looked so easy and tasty I had to try it, and it was great!
The recipe is easy to follow and easy to make and the end result is moist and delicious.
If you're looking for a chocolate cake with a twist, consider this one, I'm confident you'll love it.

Recipe

Ingredients
9 eggs
1 lb. chopped bittersweet chocolate
3/4 cup sugar
1 cup butter
parchment (or wax) paper
cocoa powder
confectioners sugar

Directions
1. Preheat the oven to 300º

2. Melt the butter and chocolate over low/medium heat. Stir occasionally.

3. While chocolate is melting separate the egg yolks and whites in two bowls.
-Beat egg yolks with 3/4 c. sugar.

-With clean mixers beat the egg whites with 1 tablespoon sugar until fluffy with peaks.

4. In a large bowl fold 3/4 of the melted chocolate/butter mixture with the egg yolks and a third of the egg whites. Keep folding in ingredients until mixed.

5. Pour into a greased and floured spring form pan with parchment paper lining the bottom. Bake for 30 min or until the sides are firm and the center still jiggles.
Set aside to cool. Once cooled sprinkle cocoa powder and confectioners sugar on top (TIP: Put the cocoa and sugar in a mesh strainer and tap over the cake. It will give that professional look).

Happy baking!
Cheers!

inspiration: Givenchy!

Givenchy

I was going through my daily list of blogs and my breath caught at a beautiful sight! Aimee, of Song of Style, just got a new bag and it is GORGEOUS!! It reminded me why I love Givenchy so much and had me looking through their ready-to-wear collections.

Aimee's bag is the one in the middle, its called the "Antigona.

I found everything but the clutches at Farfetch.com and the clutches I found on Polyvore

everybody's gonna love today, love today, love today

Hi everyone!
Hope everyone who celebrates Thanksgiving had a wonderful one!!
Ours was a lovely, yummy, and relaxed one.
(except when we were yelling at the tv...football makes us a bit crazy...hahaha)
It's always interesting trying to figure out what to wear for the Thanksgiving meal. We go to one of our parent's friend's homes so we try to dress up nicely, keeping in mind that we will be eating a lot and watching a bunch of football.
Here's what we wore:

anisa

arnab is wearing Mark & Spencer sweater, Diesel button down, H&M scarf, Levi's pants, and vintage shoes

and the lonesome wind

For some reason it's been raining every weekend here in L.A., it stops when the weekend is over, though, very strange.
The last couple of weekends the rain has been very, very minimal, but this weekend, particularly Sunday, it rained hard and a lot. Usually I would find every reason to stay indoors but a pre-planned breakfast with friends foiled all that.
(Thankfully I love my friends and they are the only ones I would go out in pouring rain for.)

anisa is wearing vintage shirt, BB Dakota leather jacket, Current/Elliot jeans, vintage Coach bag, Coach umbrella, and Seychelles boots
arnab is wearing Salt Valley shirt, Missoni for Target cardigan, Levi's jeans, Guess by Marciano boots

We've passed these trees for year on end and I never get over how pretty they get this time of year.

Have a happy Wednesday!!

eat your heart out: pumpkin pie!

Pumpkin Pie

Hi everyone! It's almost Thanksgiving and that means pumpkin pie! I'm a huge fan and I became an even bigger fan when I realized just how easy it is to make! I made one recently 'cause I was too excited to wait, it was delicious!

This recipe has directions for a crust and pumpkin filling but I bought a pre-made graham cracker crust. I've made the crust before and it's not at all as hard as it sounds but I love that the filling works just as well to a simple graham cracker crust, especially if the baker is being to lazy to make the crust... :)
You can find the full recipe at Martha Stewart's website.

Recipe
Ingredients
All-purpose flour, for surface
1 can (15 ounces) solid-pack pumpkin
3/4 cup packed light-brown sugar
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon coarse salt
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
3/4 teaspoon ground ginger
1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
3 large eggs
1 can (12 ounces) evaporated milk
Ground cloves
Whipped cream, for serving

Directions
    1.    Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
2. Whisk pumpkin, sugar, cornstarch, salt, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, vanilla, eggs, milk, and a pinch of cloves in a large bowl.

   3. Place pie dish into a rimmed baking sheet, and pour pumpkin mixture into crust. Bake until center is set but still a bit wobbly, 50 to 55 minutes. Let cool in pie dish on a wire rack. Refrigerate until well chilled, at least 6 hours (preferably overnight). Serve chilled with whipped cream.

 Enjoy!
Happy baking!!

10 things!

 Hi everyone!
I hope everyone's doing well!
Here are our top things for the week, mine is a bit (x1000) over my price limit, but oh well...

anisa's 5 things

I'm a handbag girl. I tend to scuff and wear out shoes much faster than the normal person so I don't ever really splurge on shoes nor do I ever really want to spend too much on shoes, but bags are another thing entirely! Top on my want list is Chanel's 2.55, but an extremely close second is pretty much any bag from Proenza Schouler's PS1 and PS11 collections. If you look at the bags below, you'll know why:

1.
PS1 Large

2.
PS1 Medium

3.
 PS1 Keep All Small

4.
PS1

5.
PS Accessories

arnab's 5 things
i've always loved the winter, ever since i can remember.
the reason being, no matter how cold it got, you could always add another layer of clothing.
layering is an acquired skill, but one that anyone can master.
so i'll leave you with three items that could be paired together, with other items, or worn individually.
and of course, no outfit is complete without pants and shoes.
1.
Houston Denim Hooded Shirt by Kr3w
because who doesn't love a hooded shirt

2.
Biker Hoodie with Oversized Hood by Unconditional
because how amazing is that hood

3.
Black Gasoline Leather Jacket by ACNE
because every guy needs a leather jacket

4.
Snake Candy Coated Skinny Jeans by ACNE
because guys do look great in skinny jeans

5.
Black Buckley Wrap Boot by H by Hudson
because . period

have an amazingly fabulous day!
dress warm, stay safe!
cheers!

i know i'm not the only one

Hi everyone!
This is the second part to our Wednesday post. We've reused two items in this look that we used from our last looks, check out how we've used them this time:

arnab's 2 items are his shirt and his boots. Here's a quick gift giving tip if you're shopping for a guy, buy him boots. Most boots are extremely comfortable, stylish, and versatile, all things that make for a great gift. These boots of arnab's are put very good use and can be paired with pretty much anything.

My 2 items are the lace top and the Joe's jeans. I'm sure I've said this before but I love wearing lace because it goes with almost everything and it always makes you look pretty.  :)

arnab is wearing a Salt Valley shirt, Vintage Red chambray shirt, Charles & 1/2, KR3W cargo pants, and Alfani boots
anisa is wearing Charlotte Russe top, BB Dakota suede jacket, Joe's jeans, vintage clutch, and vintage flats
