Roasted Squash Soup and Biscuits

For this installment of "eat your heart out!" we have for you roasted squash soup and biscuits! I got the roasted squash soup recipe from Rachel Ray, and you can find it here. arnab got the biscuits recipe from Paula Deen, and you can find that one here.
I saw Rachel Ray make this squash soup on her show years ago and it looked very delicious! The recipe is a fairly easy one, though you do need an immersion blender for this one. At first sip the soup is pretty tasty but to be truthful this soup wasn't a huge hit when I made it and I know exactly why.

Roasted squash soup!

This soup is made to be pretty thick so a bowl of it isn't very easy to finish, especially if you're used to chicken soup and such. (As a reference the soup is a bit thicker then clam chowder and tomato soup.) I think that if this was made for a larger party and as a sort of side I think it would be a hit. As a side the servings would be much smaller and in smaller portions the soup was very good, and especially with the biscuits arnab made.

arnab found this recipe for biscuits when he decided to make them, as a spur of the moment kind of thing. Since then arnab has made them many times and every time he does they're a hit! They're not overly buttered or anything and they come out of the oven nice and fluffy on the inside, yum!
arnab always say that the biscuits are very easy to make and don't take all that long to bake in the oven. They're great with just about everything and if you have guest they will rave! 
Nothing beats a home cooked biscuit!
