arnab finally finished and developed the film from my Holga lomography camera (I know it's my camera, haha) and wanted to share.
I love taking pictures on film and would love to use film cameras more often, maybe I'll try harder to do so.

baby, maybe we haven't gone crazy after all

Sometimes I think I could live forever in a black leather jacket and jeans.
If the jeans are black, even better!

Here's arnab in some of my Betsey Johnson jewelry.
He's not one for flashy things unless it's jewelry, that is.

eat your heart out: chocolate chip scones !

 Hey everyone!
Last week was rather busy and it concluded with arnab and I attending the Blogger Market with our lovely friend Iliana. The Blogger Market was hosted by Julie Sarinana of Sincerely Jules, who Iliana and I are huge fans of! There were many L.A. based bloggers at the event, many of whom I follow, including Shea of Cheyenne Meets Chanel and Rachel of That's Chic! All the ladies were very sweet and friendly, the event was definitely worth going out in the rain for. :)
And since we're good bloggers, of course arnab and I took many pictures... not. haha.
He thought I had my camera and vice versa, what a hot mess!

Instead I have a new recipe!

Chocolate Chip Scones

When I thought about making scones before this recipe I figured it would be complicated, time consuming, or both. I think I think this way because once I wanted to make croissants, and so I looked for recipes and what I read totally freaked me out, haha.
Anyway I found this recipe at the Joy of Baking site and it came with a detailed video and I thought I'd try it out.
The recipe is fairly easy and the end results were brilliant!!
Everyone in my house gave the scones rave reviews.
You can find the recipe, but more importantly the video for it here.

    •    2 cups all purpose flour
    •    1/4 cup granulated white sugar
    •    1 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
    •    1/4 teaspoon baking soda
    •    1/4 teaspoon salt
    •    1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, cold and cut into pieces
    •    1/2 cup milk or semi sweet chocolate chips or chunks
    •    1/2 cup dried cherries or cranberries (optional, I did not use them)
    •    1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
    •    2/3 - 3/4 cup buttermilk

1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F and place rack in middle of oven. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Cut the butter into small pieces and blend into the flour mixture with a pastry blender or two knives. (The mixture should look like coarse crumbs.)  Stir in the chocolate chunks (or chips) and dried cherries.
For this part, I didn't really know what to do with two knives and I don't have a pastry blender but I used my Kitchen Aid stand mixer and that worked wonderfully.
3. In a small measuring cup whisk together the buttermilk and vanilla extract and then add to the flour mixture. Stir just until the dough comes together (add more buttermilk or flour as necessary). Do not over mix the dough.

4. Transfer to a lightly floured surface and knead dough gently four or five times and then pat the dough into a circle that is about 7 inches round and about 11/2 inches thick. Cut this circle in half, then cut each half into 4 pie-shaped wedges (triangles). Place the scones on the baking sheet. Brush the tops of the scones with a little milk.
5. Bake for about 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean. Remove from oven and place on a wire rack to cool.

Happy Baking!!

inspiration: Kate Spade!

Kate Spade

arnab will tell you that I have been going on and on about Kate Spade for a few months now.
I just love going through the site, it's so bright and filled with so many lovely things!
I love the clothes, the bags, the shoes, the jewelry, everything!
Here are some of the things I'm loving.

You can click on the pictures and they'll take you to Polyvore to get more info and to see more lovely Kate Spade things.
(like any of the jewelry because it's all so lovely, be sure to check the pieces out!)
Or you can go straight to the Kate Spade site!

here at the right time

I'm obsessed with this top, it's so soft! I love it's relaxed feel and was dying to pair it with something more pretty and feminine, and this vintage skirt came to mind. I love putting things you might not usually put together, together, it's fun stuff.

I think everyone should own black pants cause they go with everything. I also think everyone should have this sweater vest arnab's wearing cause it's so cool, but that may be harder for everyone to get.

arnab is wearing a vintage vest, H&M tank top, sweater pin I bought a few years back at Macys (don't remember the brand or anything), KR3W cargo pants, Zara boots

the first day of spring

Spring is here!
I love spring because all of a sudden everything seems so much brighter!
('course that's mostly because daylight savings happens near spring so the night doesn't come so fast.)

p.s. not sure if I ever mentioned this, but arnab has multicolored nails all the time because I use his hands to test nail polish colors. There's a light green one he has on by Dior, that I am itching to get!

anisa is wearing vintage top, Kensie sweater, vintage skirt, vintage belt, vintage clutch, and BCBGeneration wedges

when the rains come, put on your best

Word on the street is that it's going to rain here in L.A. this weekend.
And when you live in an area where it's warm 90% of the year rain means layering and bundling up!
