these things will never change

The title of our post could be speaking about many different parts of my outfit.
1. I'll never stop loving leopard!
2. These jeans are so soft and comfortable I've lost count how many times I've worn them, just this week.
and 3. The same goes for these Topshop sandals. I have these and my Aldo sandals (last seen here) on constant rotation, I love them soo much!

arnab, though, has a thing about repeating clothing articles in a week, as in- he doesn't.
Shoes are a different story entirely.
Being a big fan of boots, he wears all of his pairs quite often!

10 things!

Hi guys!
Hope everyone is having a lovely long weekend.
Here it's being spent shopping, cooking and eating lots of food, watching baseball, and watching movies. :)

anisa's 5 things
My 5 things this week are all 5 of my favorite things right now.

My new Alexander Wang Deigo bag, that arnab helped me pay for.
I wanted to give myself a big treat for my 25th birthday and this is what I choose.
It was so hard, trying to figure out what to choose but this one won in the end and I love it!

Jean-Michel Cazabat wedges
I've been searching for a pair like these for ages and have found the perfect pair.

New vintage bag arnab gave me for my birthday.

Another new vintage bag.
I'm obsessed with vintage bags, if you couldn't tell

And a vintage tin box that is nautical themed, I love it!

arnab's 5 things

For this weeks' 10 Things I wanted to do something a tad different.
If you know me, you'll know that in addition to fashion I love comics. So for all of you that are interested in reading comics, I've decided to list some really great ones. Now, I've kept the more mainstream popular comics off the list. Things like Batman (the greatest superhero), the Avengers, the X-Men, even the Walking Dead or the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, who you might come across in passing and could easily google. (Though I have linked great starting points if you click their name.) Instead I'm leaving you with some lesser known, more obscure books that are sure to grab your attention.

First up we've got American Vampire. While you might be sick of vampires, I promise you, this book is unlike anything you've seen in movie theaters and tv shows. This here is the ultimate vampire book with all the blood, violence, and romance you'll ever need.

Next up we've got Gladstone's School for World Conquerors. You read right, this book is all about supervillains in training. Perfect for all ages, this exciting book is filled with action, adventure, and unforgettable characters.

Certainly the most quirkiest book of the bunch, Chew brings a tremendous amount of humor to often unfunny situations.

Whereas the previous three book are ongoing (meaning the entire story has not concluded) this book and the following are complete stories. Y The Last Man is fantastic story about a post-semi-apocalyptic story where all but on man in the world has died.

I Kill Giants may be the last book on the list, but that in no way implies it is the last in greatness. This book is filled with excitement, youthful exuberance, a hint of sadness, and a whole lot of heart.

Well, there's my list of books. Hopefully my comic book talk hasn't bored you, but hey, it's nice to have other interests, no?
While I'm sure the success of movies such as the Avengers and The Dark Knight, as well as tv shows such as the Walking Dead and Smallville have nudged you towards checking out comics, hopefully my list will direct you to gems you might have otherwise overlooked.

don't you worry 'bout me anymore

When I found this skirt at a thrift store I immediately wanted it because I love the color of it.
When I went to purchase it and the cashier told me it was on sale for $2 I knew it was meant to be. :)
I paired it with one of my favorite belts, my eagle belt, which I forgot to include in my animal post, oh well.

When we left the house I warned arnab that he might get hot, but he didn't listen.
Long story short, it got hot.
The moral of this story? Always listen to your sister.
Still if there was an outfit that was worth getting hot in his would be it.
(especially since, by the end of our shopping he had entirely unbuttoned his shirt...)

and i don't know how it gets better than this

This past Saturday arnab and I went out for part 2 of my birthday celebration.
We went out with my best friend Sosannn and a few other lovely folks to dinner at Cafe Bizou, which is a cute French restaurant in Sherman Oaks.
I love  French and Italian food!!
Afterwards went and saw Dark Shadows, which arnab and I loved.
I'm a huge fan of Tim Burton and Johnny Depp (both apart and together) so the movie was a lovely treat. :)

I'm wearing two presents I got for my birthday.
The skirt, Studio M, was a gift from my parents and the vintage bag was from arnab!

arnab left the cardigan at home.
The nights are nice and cool, which is a great reprieve from the warm days we've been having.

Here are the rest of my gifts:

Essie "Coat Azure" nail polish, a green lace dress (loving the lace), and a Betsey Johnson crossbody bag!

skirt, skirt, skirt (oh my!) and a polka dot dress!!

a heart shaped jewelery case, a bracelet, and an emerald ring (my birthstone)!
I love all my gifts!!!  :)

inspiration: Ray-Bans!

Ray-Ban is celebrating 75 years this year.
arnab and I are huge fans, we both own a pair of wayfarer's and arnab has a pair of aviators too.
When I saw their new "Never Hide" ad campaign to celebrate their 75th year, filled with images of the past, I loved it!
I love all the ads (they're brilliant) but my favorites are the cute gay couple (clubmaster's are so cool!) and the 70's ladies (I love, love, love the 70's and cat eye's are always lovely)

All of the images can be found: here.

Have a lovely weekend!!

May 18, 2012

here comes the sun again

Right now we're at this awkward stage where we have out both our colder and warmer weather clothes because some days it's cold and some days warm, crazy I know.
And even though it can get really hot here I'd like the summer to start so that my closet can stop being such a hot mess.

A few months back I read in a blog-I've forgotten which, about someone's summer sandal for the year and it caught my interest instantly because it sounded like a great excuse to buy new sandals. ;)
I bought these sandals soon after I read that blog post and I love them.
The first day I wore them the backing bruised the heck out of me but since then, and to my joy, nothing! :)
I guess I just needed to break them in.

Warmer weather for arnab means trouble.
Now that we're getting more warmer weather and when it becomes more consistent I'm sure you'll be seeing arnab in shorts often. Thankfully he owns many pairs, including two in very bright colors which you would never guess he would own, these yellow shorts being one and a pair of blue ones being the other.
It's good to step out of your comfort zone once in a while.

don't stop me now pt.2

I am constantly forgetting to take my small Canon camera when we go out!
Thankfully, Iliana, my lovely friend, had her handy dandy phone to snap some pictures.
Unfortunately these were taken in the middle of the night as we were walking to our car, after we had some good old fashion fun. ;)

(dropped my clutch, I don't know how)

(we were giggling a lot)

(our shoes!)

(this can be found in Hollywood on some empty building. Iliana saw it and kept saying "This doesn't make sense!" haha.)
